External Decoration Generaly 80% of the external
walls here in Cyprus are covered with spritz. The components within
the mixture are normally: white cement, grit and a colourant which
gives the spritz it's texture and colour. You have probably realized
by now that this mixture is in fact extreamly porous. With no damp
proofing additive's in the final mixture, any water that finds
its way on to the surface will soak straight in to the wall. This
then could lead on to damp problems To
fully protect the external walls a waterproof skin needs to be
applied. There are various way's to do this. We
recommend Dulux paint systems as they have a proven track record
in external wall protection. In fact ICI Dulux do guarantee their
paint for 15 years, aslong as the application of the product conforms
to the ICI specifications.
